Launched to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Hong Kong Maritime Week, this flagship sporting event will bring together maritime leaders, insurers, lawyers, suppliers, cadets and industry partners to raise vital funds to support seafarers worldwide.
Organised by The Sailors Home and Mission to Seafarers Hong Kong, together with industry co-organisers including The Captain’s Table, NorthStandard and Filhet-Allard Maritime Hong Kong, this challenge event combines networking, team-building and adventure, showcasing the strength and spirit of the maritime community while supporting those who keep global trade moving.
Planned Route
Taking place on Sunday 15 November 2026, teams of three will tackle an approximately 20-kilometre route from Big Wave Bay to Repulse Bay, travelling via the iconic Dragon’s Back and through Tai Tam Country Park. Open to participants aged 18 and above and welcoming all fitness levels, the race will require teams to start and finish together, encouraging collaboration and camaraderie throughout the day.
The event is expected to attract 35 teams from across the international shipping community, including shipowners, managers, maritime lawyers, insurers, suppliers and cadets from Hong Kong’s maritime training programmes. Starting at 9:00am, participants will have up to five hours to complete the course before gathering for a celebratory finish at Repulse Bay.

Why your support matters
For more than 160 years, The Sailors Home and Mission to Seafarers, part of the Anglican Church in Hong Kong (Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui), has been dedicated to supporting seafarers and the wider maritime community. The Mariners is just one part of that long-standing commitment to providing care, connection and practical support to those who spend their lives at sea.
Your support helps make this vital work possible. Beyond operating The Mariners, our chaplaincy team, ship visitors and volunteers provide welfare services to seafarers across Hong Kong by:
- Being available whenever seafarers need support
- Visiting ships at anchor each day via The Mission's launch service
- Making regular visits to shore-side terminals
- Caring for seafarers during their time ashore
- Welcoming seafarers to The Mariners centres in Tsim Sha Tsui and Kwai Chung, offering a safe and welcoming home away from home
Every donation and every participant helps us continue this work, ensuring that seafarers receive the compassion, practical assistance and sense of belonging they deserve.
